Homicide detective Adam Kimble is no stranger to battling demons. But Meredith Fallon is a different kind of weakness: one that could actually be good for him, if only he would let himself depend on her. Meredith has loved Adam for a year, and seeing how hard he’s worked to deal with his PTSD makes her feelings only stronger, but she respects his needs. Her work keeps her busy anyway: she counsels sexually abused women like Mallory Martin to help them reintegrate into the world. Two Cincinnati detectives question everything they know–and everyone they trust–in the new novel of romantic suspense from New York Times bestseller Karen Rose.
But someone doesn’t want Meredith helping women like Mallory, and Meredith finds herself the target of a very determined killer. Adam would risk anything for Meredith, but they’ll soon find out the killer is just a little too close to home…
I was so happy when I seen Karen Rose’s new book on netgalley, I was double excited when I got a email saying my request to read it was accepted. I literally jumped up and down so happy and started reading right away. I’ve waited so long to read Adam and Meredith’s story and was totally worth the wait.
Edge of darkness features some of out favourite characters from previous books Dani, Deacon, Faith, the O’Bannion brothers, kate and decker and also Diesel etc. This book is focused on Meredith and Adam, Meredith Fallon is a child psychologist who we met briefly Karen Rose’s earlier novel. After a one time affair with detective Adam Kimble she has been pining after him but unsure why he is pulling away and going out of his way to avoid her,But Adam has his reasons and demons of his own to deal with. That is until it all comes to a head when Meredith becomes the victim of a terrible crime, someone tried to shoot her and nobody knows why.
Karen Rose’s books are always tense and unpredictable, you never know what’s going to happen. Her books keep you on the edge of you seat till the very end and that was the very same on this book.I thoroughly enjoyed edge of darkness it has such a strong plot with a killer at large and with the emotions and feelings between Meredith and Adam I couldn’t get enough.
The beauty of Karen Rose’s novels is that she doesn’t offer any red herrings you are literally left guessing the whole way through, she blends her books so well with the main plot and romance between the two main characters, she has the ability to mix them so well.
After more than 20 books the Author still manages to capture my attention with wonderful characters and complex plots which keeps you reading until the last word on the last page and I cant wait for her next book. Karen Rose’s book always keep me hooked I can always re-read them and never get enough of them.
